Philosophy brings happiness
Human beings pursue many things in life,
career, wealth, prestige, relationships, recognition, in the end
hoping these would bring happiness.
Yet, in this perpetual pursuit, happiness is
still so illusive, always just around the corner, when I achieve
my next objective.
But what is happiness? We may think that
happiness comes from outside, from what is given or what happens
to us.
Philosophy allows
us to reflect, to understand, and to see clearly what truly
belongs to us, and what does not truly belong to us.
True happiness can only come from within,
from an inner freedom. To be a philosopher is to be able
cultivate the art of happiness.
