Confucius : the difficulty is primarily internal.

With UNESCO, the planet celebrates in 2007 its 3rd World Philosophy Day. It is once more time to promote with vigour universal values, indispensable enlightenment towards the eventual attainment of union amongst Men.

As long as values, universally recognized as essential to peace, will remain as words written on paper or displayed on a computer screen, progress towards harmonious relations between individuals and peoples will remain minimal.

These values must be incorporated into consciousness of the individual and a constant internal dialogue must be maintained so that they are always the lights of intimate discussions leading to the selection of conduct, to a decision. But the core values are not only universal, they are also demanding that is why it is easier to write them on a piece of paper rather then leaving them in the heart.

According to the great Chinese philosopher Confucius the difficulty in connecting to another is a reflection of the difficulty in reaching inner union with the higher dimension that stands within everyone.

Confucius asserted that to be in union with one’s higher self could, by his actions, reflect this union around him and thus contribute actively to building a better society.

Indeed, live in a city where life is good, where universal values prevail, and where justice triumphs can primarily be achieved by the understanding that any virtue must be sewn and cultivated first within oneself.

The more virtues take root and grow in the hearts and consciousness of one’s being, the more they will manifest outwardly and the more obstacles to union with others will decrease to eventually disappear.
