Dolphins at play

Nature continually amazes us with its innate order, simplicity and beauty.

Dolphins, known to be intelligent, kind, and of playful nature have recently been video recorded at play at a Sea World in Florida. The two young dolphins were recorded blowing ring-shaped bubbles under water through their noses and then, with great curiosity and delight, playing with those rings.

These young dolphins display their capacity for wonder, playfulness and intelligence, which always seems to fascinate science each time we witness such displays.

Playfulness is most expected of us when we are physically young. However, we are soon expected to grow up and be serious. Does growing up really prevent us from keeping a youthful attitude and maintaining our playfulness? Or are seriousness and a stern disposition really signs of maturity?

A good sense of humour and a healthy playfulness lightens our days and encourages a healthy mind and body. These qualities spring from within, often stemming from and simultaneously nurturing an inner youth, which has little to do with one’s biological age. Such qualities manifest in our attitude and bearing and in our ability to assume the experience of growing older with dignity and grace, while keeping our zest for life, our curiosity and our sense of wonder burning brightly inside.
